Biography:
Sarkastica emerged in Buenos Aires in 1993. Originally had a male vocalist, Marcelo Martinez, but in 1994 Elsa Gonzales and his thrasher voice took the place behind the microphone.
Their music is essentially fast thrash, officially labeled as thrashcore. The sisters Marisol and Marisa Blanco formed the band nucleus, to which Samara Albuin was added on bass and Elsa Gonzales. The last one left the band after their first demo, “Sarkastica” in 1996.
The Blanco sisters found a proper surrogate on Brenda, with a punk base and style. Brenda had experience on punk bands such as Contrabando, Fuerza Interna, Nogal o The Misfit Girls, a The Misfits tribute band. Brenda’s passion for the Misfits was as great as to sing some of their songs at the end of Sarkastica’s shows.
With Brenda on board they released the demo “Argentina Death” in 1997. The idea of releasing an album was still present in the band, but after failing to sign a record contract they split in 2002.
Brenda continues to be active in the group Gothic Bloodparade and doing fine. She has finally released an album, “Pain Exposed”. She continues her tribute to the Misfits in the tribute band Horror Biz.
