They were friends from their school days in Newcastle, Australia. Peta and Renee contacted the drummer Regina, who not only brought her friend Kristy to be in charge of the vocal duties but suggested the name which brings together the same line-up since then, Amathyst.

Ilkim Oulanem

Ilkim Oulanem is a one-person female black metal project in Turkey. In 2005, Oulanem formed a pure black metal band called Messershmit in Ankara. After performing as a bass-vocal in the band for a while, in 2008 she released a personal 2-track demo.

Fates Fury

Fates Fury's origins date back to 2005 when Jerrica Simon teamed up with Nikki Killz to begin writing under the name of Dopegirl. It was not until 2007 that they closed the triangle with the addition of bassist Christina Poison, a friend of the band who was back in town.

Area 7

Area 7 was born in 1999 when the Foronda sisters created a band that pays tribute to acts like Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains and Nirvana. After the typical initial hesitation, finally they consolidated as a solid quartet led by Diana and Fátima Foronda, supplemented by the drummer Josie Romani who suggested Karol Uriol's entry, who switched from guitar to bass.

Bitchcock

With this curious name tribute to Hitchcock, but with a feminine touch and thug, Annemiek van Grondel and the drummer Elisabeth Esselink began rehearsing in a dark studio. It was the summer of 1990, but it was not until seven years later and several lineup changes that the band matured and finally showed their cards, an mixture of alternative hard rock and melodic guitars.

DödsÄngel

DödsÄngel is the Swedish word to refer to the "Angel of Death", and is also the name of the solo project of the prolific Canadian-Norwegian Trish, playing the drums in bands such as Hinsides (black metal, Sweden), Gate To Khaos (black/thrash metal, Norway), KäftSmäll (d-beat punk, Sweden) and Warsystem (dis-core, Canada).

Berberis

Sofía Moreno, Morita Bastías y Paulina “Poly” Cádiz lit the fuse of Berberis in April 2004. All three had experience in music, with Poly who had participated in more bands, including the thrashy Squad. Soon they were joined by Angelina Sandoval, whose flexibility allowed her to mix melody vocals with guttural screams.

Absinthe

When they started they were working women and mothers who were returning to the stage after a period of musical inactivity. Enjoying a second youth, Absinthe came from the confluence of the two most productive scenes in American metal, the ones from New York and Los Angeles. In 2009 they reformed almost completely, with Briana Alexis still leading a band that revamped their sound to heavier approach.
