Sofía Moreno, Morita Bastías y Paulina “Poly” Cádiz lit the fuse of Berberis in April 2004. All three had experience in music, with Poly who had participated in more bands, including the thrashy Squad. Soon they were joined by Angelina Sandoval, whose flexibility allowed her to mix melody vocals with guttural screams.

Soon they were joined by Angelina Sandoval, whose flexibility allowed her to mix melody vocals with guttural screams.
After musical differences with the original trio, Sandoval was replaced by Gabriela Valdivia, who kept the counterpoint to the stormy cries now issued by Poly with her lyrical singing. Their music moved between an extended range, which ranged from classical to brutal death metal with thrash as the base rail.
Under a sensual but aggressive onstage presence they roamed the chilean stages with relative acceptance, featureing a set list based on own songs adorned with the cover of Alice Cooper’s “Brutal Planet”. Two years and 18 concerts after its formation, they choose to follow their musical paths separately.

A curious band. While their image appears to show three girls dressed for a Halloween party, music itself becomes aggressive. This seems to be one of the main features of Tormentula, mixing humor with aggressiveness, also present in their lyrics. Their style is often medially associated with the black metal label, although approaching a punkish doom/death metal.

This seems to be one of the main features of Tormentula, mixing humor with aggressiveness, also present in their lyrics. Their style is often medially associated with the black metal label, although approaching a punkish doom/death metal.
The band kick off was in 1997 without any claim as a gathering of friends. They tried with different covers but neither seemed to bear fruit until they saw the light with their first song “Corn Cob”.
Their vocalist Alice cites influences such diverse as Emperor, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Venom and Mercyful Fate. Actually their sound is no less confusing. This was no handicap to get a recording contract with Speakeasy Records, born recently with only two bands in their roster, which released their LP “Submit Your Unworthy Soul” in 1999.
The record had some local impact, which did not prevent the record label from traversing economic problems and eventually disappeared. The album gave Tormentula a certain reputation that made them open for Today’s The Day and Anal Cunt.
“Lure Of The Grime”, published in 7″ red vinyl was the last work published by Tormentula.
They are still active but without plans to publish new material, switching from trio to quintet after adding Glare Rivets on bass, and the first male foray Blasphemor Lord.

Alice Bludgeon – Drums, vocals
Manerva Scurvy – Guitar, vocals
Dr. Morticia Mangle – Bass
Glare Rivets – Bass, vocals

With the guttural addition of Maleska Fuentes, the sound becomes more aggressive, and after several lineup changes ends in the death metal they practice nowadays. Crude and direct. Maleska has a good musical foundation, being a piano teacher at the School of Fine Arts in Tacna, and belonged to the former rock band Snowfall. She has recorded two albums with Dark Silence.
They basically focus into the underground of southern Peru, performing mainly in their hometown of Tacna and Cuzco.

Sacralis is one of the many female metal bands that were born in 1993. Although not all did so with the quality of these teutonic, founded by Marita Kircher (vocals, guitar) and Miriam Storz (drums).
Unfortunately their story is also an oft-repeated in these era bands. Years of hard work demo after demo, first album release and immediate separation.
They style is old-school death metal with guttural vocals and amazing heavy riffs.
They Began their journey through the stages in 1994 following the incorporation of Nadja Popp on bass. Still as a quartet, with Britt Mauer’s vocals, the band started to play across Germany. Later they were joined by an inexperienced Bianca Hiller on keyboards.
In the years to come Sacralis shared the stage with Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Old Mans Child, Tristania, Sinister, Krabathor, Krisiun, Defleshed, Jesus Martyr, Ritual Carnage, Mystic Circle, Gorgoroth, Night in Gales, Myrkskog, Goddess of Desire, Atrocity, Orth, Apophis, In Extremo, The Exploited.
Britt was dismissed for professional reasons after opening for The Exploited in Stuttgart, what lead Marita to take over the microphone.
With the experience gained in three years they recorded their first demo, “Abstract Metamorphosis”, which needed a second edition after the first batch of 100 copies were sold out.
A year later, in 1998, sacralis produced their first EP, “bortaS”, after which Bianca left the band due to ill health. No one replaced her live, while in studio the keys were played by Nadja.
As a trio, the group released their first LP, “Infera Destino”, composed entirely by Marita, a great album which unfortunately marked the beginning of the end of the band. Internal problems on the direction to take in the next “Pho-Bos”, which never saw the light, caused the disband of sacralis in 2002.
Marita Kircher founded Mevatron, inactive since 2003, Nadja went to the Norwegian band Mandylion separated after releasing two demos, while Miriam is with the germans thrash band Nuclear Warfare.
