Taiwanese band formed by four young black and death metal fans. A entirely female act since its inception, switched drummers when when Mibo decided to call it a day and left the band, replaced by Po.

Biography:
Blair Witch was formed in the middle of 2006, and has faced some lineup changes since getting solid in 2007 with Shinya on guitar, Mai on bass, A PO on drums and Ice on shrieks.

A new guitarist, Chiang, joined this band in 2010.

Blair Witch have toured hard since 2007, sharing stage with many awesome metal bands such as EFTC, Bazooka, Revilement, Bloody Tyrant, Masquerader, Flesh Juicer, Abigail (Japan), Oathean (Korea), Evocation (HK), SEED (Korea) among others.

In 2010, Blair Witch was invited to attend Asia metal festival summer special in South Korea. It was witches’ first gig overseas.

Blair Witch released first EP “Imprecation” on 24th April and also had promotion live shows in Taipei and Taichung. Just one month after its release, the band was invited to attend HK Extremely Metal Festival in Hong Kong.

The Witches were creating new songs, with the hope of releasing their first album and have more concerts in Taiwan and overseas, when they decided to call it a day due to different thoughts of future.

Nornir’s Wisdom

Nornir’s Wisdom is the project of Xenia, a young multiintrumentist that produces a disturbing black metal with pagan folk touches. With only one year of activity, she has already produced a self-titled demo recorded in summer 2007.

Biography:
Nornir’s Wisdom is the project of Xenia, a young multiintrumentist that produces a disturbing black metal with pagan folk touches.

With only one year of activity, she has already produced a self-titled demo recorded in summer 2007, containing the songs “When Naglfar Sails”, “A Pagan Foretelling” and “Our Blood Our Victory”.

Her influences range from Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden to Bathory, Summoning and Isengard.

After releasing her interesting demo, not much was know from the band, and their myspace has eventually dissapeared.

Black Widows

Black Widows has been over ten years fighting to gain a spot in the scene. With a style marked by the combination of gothic and black metal, it has been the victim of many lineup changes. In fact they are looking for a drummer to fill the vacant left by Ana Costa.

Biography:
Black Widows has been over ten years fighting to gain a spot in the scene. With a style marked by the combination of gothic and black metal, it has been the victim of many lineup changes.

The worst moment for the band was when the drummer Carla Marques died suddenly in 1999. Black Widows were about to give up, but eventually continued their way.

Because of their commitment, they got contracted by the Portuguese label Recital Records in 2000, with whom they recorded two years after their first and only LP so far, “Sweet … The Hell”. Six years had passed since their first demo, recorded in five hours.

In “Sweet … The Hell”, Gunter Theys, from Ancient Rites, lends his vocals on “Life’s wish” and “Awaken”.

Throne Of Naya is the name of the musical realm devised by Elvira Naya. She is the only permanent inhabitant of this dark place, and from her throne she is organizing the instrumentalization of some of her music.

While the idea came in 2002, driven by her passion for Darkthrone, and the first lyrics were crystallized in 2003, it was not until 2004 that the first black metal demo “Cause Of Death” was recorded semi-improvised in five days with Mexican session musicians.

In 2004 Elvira paid tribute to the masters of the style, with a demo containing covers of Darkthrone and Mayhem among others. This apparent attraction to old-school black was set out again in hes demo “Sacrifices”.

In “Trangressions” Throne Of Maya shows part of the prehispanic culture, and takes a trip to Europe to promote their music, which has been very well received in countries like Germany or Norway.

Working with her (now) former band Manifest of Glific kept Elvira Naya aloof from her throne, but in 2008 she returned to sit on it to offer new music.

This is a one woman project, Katerina Horoshiltseva, best known as Terra Teratos. Rather it is the unification in 2006 of multiple individual projects as far:

• Mertvye Pesni – Only vocals, medieval folk and funeral rituals
• Goetia – Dark ambient
• Rokot Voln – Black ambient
• Tierdrama – Black metal
• N.O.V.A.R.A. – Cyber black metal
• Chaos – Ambient/Psychedelic noise
• Tern – Symphonic Ambient

All these projects are considered as a preparation, training, for what Terra Teratos is now.

Their music is experimental, surrounded by a dark ambient, noise, rituals, symphonic folk, intrumental black, funeral and doom metal. Her project is not based on a single style, but is part of the same concept and ideology.

Terra Teratos is also active in the band of depressive black funeral doom metal Furva Ambiguitas “FAAS”. It started as her idea, and she sings, plays keyboards and composes lyrics. The band is formed together with Anton Mrak, who is responsible for stringed instruments.

And if that were not enough, bands such as Absenthe and Rainwill hired her services as a session vocalist, and gained experience as a singer in Burelom, Dregva (both now disbanded), Lethargia and Humanaizer.

The Ancient Queen is the name of Rachel “Lady Death” Centeno’s solo project, parallel to being vocalist and bassist of the thrash/death bands Dark Prophecy and Satriarch.

In The Ancient Queen she unleashes her most blackmetaller face, reflected in their demo “Malleus Maleficarum”, published in 2006 conteining 5 songs. In it, Lady Death plays all the instruments and sing all the voices.

Sirannon

Another black metal act from Turkey, following the path of Ebonsight, founded by Wesretkau (earlier called Thuringwethil) the summer of 2005 in the city of Izmir.

Biography:
Another black metal act from Turkey, following the path of Ebonsight, founded by Wesretkau (earlier called Thuringwethil) the summer of 2005 in the city of Izmir.

They has had many lineup changes, always keeping it all-female. The ottoman quartet entered recording their first demo, “Annon Morin” in October 2007 containing 4 songs, but the constant lineup changes have prevented to date its publication.

Finally in 2009 the band completed what will be their definitive debut album, “Semper Caliga” with Leinth vocals, Haec on guitars, Lygbereth on bass and Wesretkau on drums.

Their music is basically old-school black metal while their lyrics dealing with ancient beliefs, paganism and especially Turkish history.

In 2001 Haec left the band and was replaced by Geshtinanna.

Notably has been their performance in BBC 3, playing “Singing With The Enemy”.

Melencolia Estatica es el proyecto de Climaxia, guitarrista del grupo de Absentia Lunae. Con un sonido particular de romanticismo, melodía y black metal, Melencolia Estatica ha producido dos álbumes, “Melencolia Estatica” y “Letum” en el 2008.

Si bien el nacimiento del proyecto está datado en el año 2004, en su álbum debut se recuperó material ideado en el año 2002.

Aunque se ha rodeado de músicos de sesión para sus grabaciones, no permanentes en el grupo, Melencolia Estatica es el concepto de Climaxia, quien toca las guitarras y el bajo. Precisamente este último instrumento está muy presente en su sonido, uno de sus características diferenciales.
